Confined Space Rescue

Course Outline

At Partner Safety, our focus is to provide our clients with the necessary knowledge to develop rescue plans and technical rescue skills to initiate rescue operations including extraction of a stranded worker from a confined space.

Upon completion of the program, participants will have the required hands-on experience and knowledge required to be compliant with the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act basic rescue requirements during confined space work.

Course Topics

  • Rescue related regulation (632/05 & SOR 86-304.11)
  • Self, assisted & entry rescue
  • Rescue operations related risks & hazards assessment
  • Development & implementation of the rescue plan
  • Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA)
  • Rescue equipment including; Wrap-Evac & SKED (Horizontal)
  • Ventilation
  • Rescue PPE & Equipment inspection
  • Practical rescue scenario
  • Post incident record keeping

Is this course for me?

Prerequisite: Current Confined Space Entry/Attendant training

This course is applicable for anyone whose work necessitates them to enter a confined space to rescue someone in potentially dangerous situation. The course is designed as an introduction to rescue operation in confined spaces and is valid for 3 years.
